Dennis

Dennis is a town in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, located near the center of Cape Cod. Fishing became the dominant industry of the town, and the Dennis-port area benefited greatly. You can see the seafaring lineage in the architecture of many of the houses located in Dennis. Dennis-built ships were considered some of the most seaworthy in the world and shipyards were making vessels that worked the waters around Cape Cod moving goods or working the fertile fishing grounds. Dennis is home to 12 commercial lobstermen landing 106,809 pounds of lobster annually.
